Although our annual Remembrance Tree event was canceled, the Sullivan Co. District Attorney’s Office and Hope for Victims still wanted to recognize and remember those lost to homicide. The Remembrance Tree located at the Blountville Courthouse on Highway 126 is lit with purple lights to honor homicide victims. Each year, we display a wreath with ornaments brought by family members at the Sullivan Co. Justice Center. The wreath is on display on the 2nd floor right outside the District Attorney’s Office. Holidays can be difficult for the family members of homicide victims, and we want to continue to honor the memory of those lost to violent crime.
