In recognition of National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims, the Sullivan Co. District Attorney’s Office, along with HOPE for Victims, held a ceremony on Sunday, September 28 at 2 PM in front of the Victims of Violent Crimes Memorial at the Sullivan Co. Justice Center. At this event, Kingsport Police Department Deputy Chief Sean Chambers spoke about his professional and personal connection to violent crime. The names of those victims inscribed on the memorial were read by General Barry Staubus, and Debbie Locke rang a bell after each name. We hope this ceremony served as a comforting reminder to the families of those lost to violence that they are not forgotten.
